Press releases can be used very effectively to market an online business. If you do not know what a press release is, it is basically just an article that is designed specifically to be released by the media with the purpose of promoting or advertising your business. The cost involved in having a good press release written is very minimal given the large amount of traffic one is capable of generating for your website.

Press releases work best for new companies or companies that have just branched out into new areas. They can be sent out both online and off, depending on the nature of your business and are capable of reaching large numbers of people, letting them know about your new product or service.

The most important thing to remember when submitting a press release to a media company is that in order to establish credibility with the general public, the press release must be free of grammar and spelling errors. It must also make your new product or service sound very appealing to the readers or viewers.

The title of the press release must be catchy and the formatting must be clear and easy to read. Making this happen effectively is sometimes best left to a professional writer who is knowledgeable in writing press releases. There is a certain amount of creativity and formatting knowledge that is needed to make a press release successful.

Press releases are a wonderful advertising tool and a great way to drive massive amounts of traffic to your website. Because of this, they can, in turn, generate significant profits for your business.

Using a press release as part of your SEO (search engine optimization) program can help you to make your new or improved website a raging success!

So you want people to visit your website, the website that you have worked so hard to make look good and have relevant content on.  This website could be about your business or about a cause that you support or just your thoughts in general.  However the main point is, you want to get traffic to your website.  So how you go about that? That is where S E O or search engine optimization comes in.

There are lot of search engines out there, however most people when they think of search engines to target think of Google, because it is the biggest one.  The good news is all the smaller search engines pretty much follow Google’s lead, so what would do to optimize for Google will help you with other search engines as well.

There are few things you can do to quickly give yourself a search engine Friendly makeover.  This is just a little bit to get you started on the right track. The first thing you want to find out is if your site is actually indexed in Google.  Take your site name and put it in the search bar, for example if your site is www.animalright.com, you would want to put site:animalright.com in the search bar.  If the search engine comes back with no results than your website has not been indexed at.  You can do the same thing at Yahoo and MSN, the other two big search engines.  So if nothing is found for your site there is one of two reasons, one is the search engines haven’t found it yet, and the second is that they have found it but that they cannot index it.  Both of these problems can be fixed, but the first problem will take longer than the second.

If your site is considered invisible to the search engines than you definitely need to get that fixed as soon as possible.  Search engines can’t read JavaScript so if the navigation system of your site was created using Java script they won’t find your links.  The solution to this is obvious, get rid of the JavaScript navigation and create a sitemap page.  The sitemap page will link to all the pages in your website, and will help the search engine spiders navigate through your site.  Another problem that can make your website seem invisible to the search spiders is dynamic pages.  This means that your website pages are created on the fly, meaning data is pulled out of a database and pasted into a Web page template when a browser requests it.  Search engines usually will not read such pages .

If your site has session ids, these are URL’s that are different every time the page is displayed, they might not be seen by the search engines.  Search engines usually choose not to index these type of Pages, as they don’t know whether the URL will change between sessions or whether different URL’s will point to the same page.  The search engines don’t want to over load a Site server and don’t want garbage in their indexes.

Getting the search engines to site is challenging. It takes hard work and perseverance but it’s worth it because once you have gotten your ranking up in the organic search engine you will prosper greatly.  One of the biggest parts of Search Engine Optimization is picking good keywords.  You must discover what people are using to search for in order to find your business.  Researching in finding out the best keywords to use in order to have your website rank high in the search engines is a definite skill and takes a lot of work.  However it is the basic foundation on which will build everything, so it must be done correctly.
