Productive Article Writing and Content Writing Research

One of the things that most of us struggle with, and spend way too much time on, when writing is research. If you are spending large quantities of time doing research for 300-500 word articles, then you are losing money. So, what is the key to fast article writing research?

 

Don’t try to become an expert on your keyword topic!

 

You only want to glean key points from the material that you read. No way should your research ever take you more than ten minutes. Google your keyword topic and then look at the first few websites that come up that you think will be informative for your keyword.

 

From there, simply pick out about four main points that interest you and that you think will interest your readers. Don’t spend a lot of time making notes. Most of the information that you gain from your research should just be logged in your head. This will serve you two purposes. One, you will save a lot of time, and two, you are almost guaranteed not to write anything that is plagiarized if you are writing right out of your head. If you feel that you will need to look back at the material, you can keep the web pages opened that you used for reference. Again though, it is necessary to take great care that you have in no way plagiarized the material from the original articles.

 

Keeping the information you read in your head may sound like it will make it difficult to write an informative article. Actually it doesn’t. If you have four main points chosen to write about and you have read just a little on each point, you will be surprised how quickly you will arrive at 500 words. Many times, you will find that you have to cut your article back because you have a lot more information, and thus words, than is necessary. Even if you are writing a 500 word article, four main points should give you plenty to write about and still have a well-rounded, informative article.
